I really like Velella velella. Apparently they sometimes wash up on the Oregon shore and whenever you see them, there’s a better chance of finding Japanese glass floats on the beaches. Even though they have tentacles and stinging cells, they aren’t powerful enough to get through human skin. Or they’re just not very effective at all. One or the other or both.
